Our Venture Studio empowers the inventive spirit to partner with great founders to transform disruptive ideas into investable and scalable companies. For more than 20 years, we have pioneered a structured approach to venture building and created an engine room that allows us to build, accelerate and invest in disruptive companies from the ground up.

Our process combines theoretical methodology with lived practical experience. The resulting activities are characterized by radical pragmatism and focus on the essential.

Problem discovery +

In this phase, we identify the problems whose solutions have far-reaching impacts. Far-reaching impact means that this innovation solves real problems and has the potential to find mass adoption.

Why can we do this?
We have over 20 years of startup experience: more than 400 projects and 28 companies (some of them in UrbanTech). In addition, we maintain partnerships with entrepreneurship centers such as WHU, TUM, THD, THI, Uni St. Gallen. Due to the intensive exchange, we are continuously confronted with problems in research.

Ideation process  +

In this phase, we develop ideas and concepts for solving the identified problems. At the same time, we validate the potential markets through a detailed context and market analysis. In this process, potential business models are also screened.

Why can we do this?
For the development of ideas, we not only draw on the experience and inventiveness of the founders but also on 65 experts from the mantro ecosystem, who provide relevant input. In addition, we have a strong network with large B2B companies in the real estate, construction, and technology industries to validate ideas and concepts.

MVP Building + Validation  +

In this phase, we build the first MVPs and test them in a fast and iterative process. Here, the business case is specifically checked for validity. In addition, the first identification of relevant KPIs and the creation of various financial models takes place.

Why can we do this?
To develop MVPs, we assemble an experienced and cross-functional venture team as serial entrepreneurs or +5 years of experience in the industry. This team consists of different marketing, technology, and venture architecture experts. This team composition remains in place until market launch if validation is successful.

Spin Off + Invest. +

In this phase, the company is officially founded and brought together with an experienced team of founders. The company is handed over from the core team of the Venture Studio with a structure ready for launch. This structure is optimized for later financing rounds with institutional investors. A growth model is established with KPIs to measure product-market fit as a clear thrust.

Why can we do this?
The mantro ecosystem has an out-of-the-box sourcing structure to find and integrate an optimal venture team into the organization. We also have deep expertise in building a growth-oriented team and a battle-tested toolchain.

Scaling  +

This phase is about providing the company with enough growth capital to increase market penetration and reach a critical mass of adoption. Here, the Venture Studio core team helps establish OKR-based scale metrics. In addition, selective core team members stay on board as active board members to support the scaling phase.
